Political tumult

What's poppin y'all? Here's some of my favorite weekly quotes from people I've been teaching English:

"No more monkey business" -said while holding hand in pistol position
"See-ya later, Alligator"
"That's radical!"

Needless to say, my students are excelling at a rapid rate😌

It's been a good two weeks! Let's get into it:

Went on intercambios in this pueblo named Lago Ranco with Elder Pineda. It was very beautiful, Lago Ranco's a special place. It's like 2.5 hours away, and is very country- cows, fields, and a great view of the Volcanos.

We had a Choripanada with our Elders quorum, a Choripan is basically a small Hot dog with salsa on it instead of everything else. We had some friends come to that, we talked about priesthood blessings so it was an interesting but good lesson. I got destroyed in Basketball after hehe

Last P day we went to some waterfalls! I cant quite remember what they were called but it was something like Los Saltos de Brujo. There were some Mapuche (a Chilean indigenous people,) decorations around the hike, so that was cool.

We had a combined District Council on Tuesday, we gave a training on Diligence. Always good to see the zone, we all got Sopapillas afterwards.

There's this big election going on right now, they're voting on whether or not they get a new constitution and its obligatorio so the streets have been packed the last little bit.

On Friday we had a way cool opportunity, Elder Renlund called our mission! It was so cool to just feel the love he had for us and feel the spirit so clearly testify of his prophetic mantle. He talked about our focus, how after all is said and done, everything that we do should be focused on Christ. Some quotes I loved:
- The prophet cares about a lot of things, because he's a gentleman. But the thing that he cares about the most is what Christ thinks. He is constantly focused on the will of the Lord.
- to be constantly riveted on Christ, in every thought and action, is not easy. It is a rigorous exercise. But the blessings to be received from that are marvelous.

A great talk to study is President Nelson's from April 2017. Helped understand the Atonement a ton, actually changed the way I think about what we can do to draw in Christ's power.

Love y'all! Some pics down below(:

- me and Elder Call's maté collection. I dare you to count how many straws there are
