Juan Pablo + Luis Felipe

I think, if I were to write a large book about any one week in my mission, it could be this last week. This last week was absolutely packed, but fear not! I'll keep the email somewhat short🙂

Wrist:
Story! so Monday we were playing soccer, I got between the ball and Elder Portillo, (an Argentine, not a good idea,) and as I was unlocking my inner Messi, he absolutely whams me in the back. I fell, rolled a few times, and since then my wrist has been useless 😅. I think it's a sprain, nothing permanent but I've been having to use my left hand for basically everything. I'm pretty prideful, so I haven't made time to go to the clinic, but the mission presidents wife roasted me at Zone conference so I'm going today.

Zone Conference:
Speaking of Zone Conference, that happened! It was really good.

Phone:
Second Story! My comp tried to toss me the phone, but I didn't catch it 🥲. I'd love to blame it on my hurt wrist, but this one was a pretty clumsy moment for me. We were walking outside, I wasn't expecting my companion to toss me the phone, and long story short we've lost all of the info on the drive of the old phone and we have a new phone.

Jocelyn:
6 months ago, I gave a baptismal interview to Vicente, this absolute stud from La Union. At that time, his mother was against the church, and hand any number of bad things in her life. I think I actually remember her specifically saying that she'd never join the church as I gave the interview.
Fast-forward to Wednesday, and I'm giving an interview to Vicente's mom, Jocelyn, to be baptized! She is a completely different person now, much happier and much more Christ-like after going through a very beautiful process living the gospel.

This last Saturday, Luis Felipe and Juan Pablo were baptized. Luis Felipe asked one of his friends about the church two months ago, started meeting with us and now he's a happy member of the church! He doesn't have an easy life at home, but he's made a lot of changes and has so much joy. Juan Pablo is this lil 8-year-old who's abuela is a member, he had fear of the water but we said a little prayer before, and he got in the font and couldn't stop smiling. Afterwards he told me that he heard a voice during the prayer that told him, "you've got to be brave for me, everything will be alright."

Yesterday we had the confirmations and the primary program. Juan Pablo gave a little talk, and Florencia and felipe from the Donoso Salgado family, this less active family that we've been working with, started and finished off the program.

This week, I studied Alma 22:14 and 2 Nephi 31: 16-17 a lot. Our own characters are selfish and carnal, but by following Christ's example, of love above everything else, we become Saints. Love y'all!
